I’m a developer of Apache CouchDB, a free software, distributed, fault-tolerant and schema-free document-oriented database designed for extreme scalability. CouchDB provides a simple HTTP JSON API, powerful MapReduce queries and incremental, bidirectional replication with conflict detection and resolution.
I use and contribute to Debian, one of the world’s most successful free software operating systems. I maintain several packages as a member of the Python Modules, Python Applications, and Erlang teams.
I’m currently writing Relax with CouchDB, a technical book showcasing CouchDB’s key features. The book starts with simple document CRUD, working through to advanced MapReduce, and culminates with deployment tuning for performance and reliability.
